Bottling of Mincemeat for All Saints Annual Bazaar and Tea to be held November 16, 2019.
In 1947 the Afternoon Branch of the W.A. organized the Bazaar and the Evening branch voted to sell mincemeat at their stall. The recipe dates back to the 1930's and probably earlier. Making the Mincemeat has become a tradition in itself, as people of all ages and genders gather to peel the apples, prepare the other ingredients and mix the mincemeat in "barrels". Many people come to the Bazaar especially for our mincemeat, freshly made, with no preservatives (keep refrigerated) that is said to better than the most expensive gourmet product.
